Hello... I'm Kelechi Ngaka a computer scientist who makes things (code/food/designs), and welcome to my awesome blog powered by Blogger

Are You An Ubuntard?

+

A catchy title and a rhetorical question I can use to quickly share something new.

My brother introduced me to Linux because it's the operating system used at his company. Then asked me to teach him how to use Linux OS >>>>>>>An O.S I had no experience. Linux is a Unix-like computer operating system assembled under the model of free and open source software development. In lay terms Linux is another Operating System like Windows and Mac.

I got an Ubuntu which is a computer operating system based on the Debian Linux distribution and distributed as free and open source software, using its own desktop environment. It is named after the Southern African philosophy of ubuntu ("humanity towards others"). source Wikipedia.

Now you know a bit about Linux & Ubuntu and should look it up more, learn the basic commands.

With this you can step up your game and start exploring the limitless things you can do using the Operating System.

What you'd like about Ubuntu

Ubuntu has a very unique user interface, login screen animation and effects are epic. The applications on it e.g Libre Office like Microsoft Office and other great apps are stunning too. With time you'd would also appreciate its downsides, its an advantage over other operating systems.

An Ubuntard - What you might end up like

Ubuntards are actually a category of Homo Sapiens who take Ubuntu as If their life depends on it. Their middle name should be Linux or Ubuntu.. These guys are another level of geek. They perform miracles with command lines... for real, they are at highest level of geek.

From where I come from, Ubuntu or Linux users are rare though, because the operating system (Linux) was not developed by a drop out. Yeah! we only appreciate things done by drop outs e.g Bill, Steve and Mark

Lastly, Ubuntu is a great Operating System anyone can pickup and learn to use. It's an eye opener to seeing operating systems from a non-Mac & non-Windows point of view. :)
